Courage is a leading economist and investment banking professional with 7+ years of experience in economic and capital market research, transaction advisory, deal structuring, and documentation.
He works with GCB Capital LTD, the investment banking subsidiary of GCB Bank PLC, as an economist/research lead, leading the firm's research effort along with advisory support to the firm's other business units. In this role, he leads macroeconomic, market and strategic research to guide the firm's business operations. He also supports deal origination, due diligence, structuring, and preparation of investor documentation, among other duties, for the Advisory and Capital Market unit. Courage has experience in M&As and corporate strategy. Over time, he has built high-level expertise in economic and fixed-income research through extensive coverage of Ghana and selected African economies, making him one of Ghana's foremost capital market economists. He actively contributes to investor education and informed investment decision-making with his expert opinion on economic policy and market developments in local and international media.
Before joining GCB Capital, Courage worked with the Databank Group as an Economist and Fixed-Income Strategist, covering macroeconomic and fixed-income market developments in Ghana and fifteen other African Countries. He also had the added responsibility of lending advisory technical support to the firm's corporate finance and advisory team and as a sector analyst for the agriculture, power, and petroleum sectors.
Courage's transaction history includes the Government of Ghana's 2019, 2020 and 2021 Eurobond programmes, the Daakye Bond programme, the Government of Ghana's domestic bond programme and several corporate listed note programmes. He obtained his first and second degrees in Economics from the University of Cape Coast.
