Linus Kumi joined GCB Bank Plc in April 2021, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous role at Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited. At Fidelity Bank, Linus served as Director of Multinational Corporates, where he managed portfolios in Global and Regional Corporates, Mining, and Energy Sectors. Additionally, he held responsibilities in Debt Capital Markets and the Corporate Division of Fidelity Asia Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary based in Malaysia. In 2020, he was tasked with a strategic initiative to enhance the bank’s local prominence, successfully increasing its business contribution from 4% to 18% within the year, positioning Fidelity Bank among the top SME businesses in the industry.

Linus also served as Director of Financial Institutions at Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana. In this role, he led teams managing Correspondence Banking relationships with local and regional banks, as well as public sector and government-related businesses. His extensive career spans over 20 years, with a focus on credit origination, structuring, financial institution solutions, trade finance, and sovereign and corporate relationship management across four different banks. Notably, he was part of the team that won the Best Restructuring Deal at the 2017 EMEA Finance Achievement Awards.

At GCB Bank, Linus is responsible for leading the Corporate Banking business. He develops and executes strategies to attract and retain corporate clients, mentors a team of bankers, and maintains relationships with key stakeholders. Under his leadership, the corporate banking division has negotiated and closed numerous significant industry transactions.

Linus holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from Stirling University, Scotland, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration with majors in Banking and Finance from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon. He also holds a professional certificate in Project Appraisal and Risk Management from Fuqua Business School, Duke University, North Carolina, and has completed the Senior Executive Program (SEP109) at London Business School.
